East lodge to Pitfour Estate (NJ94NE0039), built in circa 1820-30s. Historic OS maps show it as a small rectangular-plan building, that current OS maps show has since been extended to the north. It is a single-storey gatelodge with a timber portico of Doric columns distyle in antis in a barge-boarded entrance gable. The gable ends are also deep-eaved with fleur-de-lis barge-boards. The building is constructed from rendered rubble with granite ashlar dressings at the main elevations and rendered brick at the porch. There are consoled window hoods and surviving T-shaped glazing bars, shutters and a slated roof. Two pairs of plain granite ashlar gatepiers have flat pyramid caps and support a pair cast- iron gates with single pedestrian gates flanking.
