Two timber game larders, built in circa 1935 and circa 1950, sited to the rear of stables (NO39SW0037) and to the south-west of Birkhall House (NO39SW0001). The earlier larder is polygonal and constructed from boarded timber on a granite base, with overhanging eaves supported on slender polygonal timber posts. There is a door to one face with a gauze screened panel and gauze screens to four faces with gauze screened panels above and above door. The polygonal roof is of tarred felt with timber flashing and finial. The later larder is rectangular-plan, and constructed from lathed timber on a concrete base. The principal elevation has two doors (one being two-leaf) flanking a high fixed, gauze screened window. There are similarly high gauze screened windows to the other faces. The grey slate roof has lead flashings and a louvred timber ventilator with a ball finial.
