Details Farmstead still in use which is shown on the OS maps from the 2nd edition map onwards. It is depicted as a large rectangular steading with a watermill attached to the north-west corner. This is fed by a lade which heads north to a pond with dam and sluice. To the south-west of the steading are two buildings, a small rectangular building with attached rectangular enclosure on the north gable and a compact L-shaped building with a rectangular enclosure to the west. To the east of the steading are a long rectangular range with a set of enclosures on the west which are possibly stock pens and a smaller building. The 2006 map shows that the two small rectangular buildings are disused, the pond is infilled but not redeveloped and the L-shaped building has been extended into a rectangular building. It is within the Careston Castle designed landscape (NO55NW0115).
