Mansion, still in use, built in the early-19th century, with extensive mid-19th century alterations, set within a designed landscape (NO56SE0124). It is a harled two-storey late-Georgian mansion, with painted margins. The West elevation was originally of stugged ashlar, but has since been painted to match the harl covering the rest of the house. It has a double-bowed South-facing frontage. There was originally an Ionic portico over the entrance, but this was removed in the mid-19th century alterations. There is a two-bay East wing that was added in the mid-19th century, which is single-storey and attic, with dormered windows. The later alterations also extended the building one bay to the West, keeping the same height as the original house. The main entrance is now in the West elevation. It is also known as Muirlingden House. There is a small modern circular building with a conical roof to the East of the house, within a walled enclosure. There is a modern concrete area to the South of the house leading to the pond.
