Details Remains of a dovecote. It is of the rectangular lean-to type, with double chamber. It is constructed of harled rubble and slate, with crowstepped flanks. There is a lintel dated 1672. The dovecote is sited upon a small island within an artificial pond or moat, used as a curling pond (NO56SW0050). It is to the West of Careston Castle (NO55NW0002), and is within the associated designed landscape (NO55NW0115).
