Remains of a burial-ground and site of a chapel. The Chapel of Mary Magdalene, known locally as 'Maidlin Chapel', is recorded as both the Chapel of Arrat and of Caldhame. Its date of origin is not known but by the 15th century is was already described as being old and ruinous. It was rebuilt between 1429 and 1456. The burial ground was still in occasional use in 1861, when the foundations of the chapel were barely visible according to the antiquary Jervise. Air photographs taken in 1986 by the RCAHMS revealed a rectilinear enclosure just to the east of this chapel (see NO65NW0068). It is possible that this enclosure may be connected with the hospital recorded from the 15th century.
