Details Cropmarks of a rectilinear enclosure recorded by the RCAHMS during aerial reconnaissance from 1986 onwards. The enclosure is visible immediately to the east (about 20m) of the burial ground and chapel of St Magdalene (see NO65NW0008). The enclosure, orientated with the longer side approximately north-south, measuring just over 30m by about 20m with additional features on the north stretching about another 25m. It is possible that this feature is associated with the hospital site NO65NW0008. Early 15th century records record a hospital associated with the chapel although it may have gone out of use soon after. The remains of rig and furrow cultivation are also visible within the same field to the east of the enclosure.
