Details Remains of a tower. A square and harled four-storey 19th century signal tower, built with medieval references and topped by machicolations and crenellations. The tower is built as part of the now ruined street of single-storey cottages of the former fishtown (NO75SW0045), with its walls becoming the gable ends of the adjoining properties. The tower is harled, with round-arched bipartite windows to each face at different stages above the ground floor, with an oculus to the south elevation at the fourth stage, below a crenellated wallhead parapet with a billeted corbel course. Red brick stacks are to the two corners. Recorded during coastal zone assessment survey carried out by SCAPE between February and March 2009. Internal brick fireplaces and chimneys were observed in some houses. At the time of the visit they were used for storage for a fish yard.
